Wk 2: The Stair

Inspiration:

MY OWN STAIR DESIGNS:

FIRST SET OF CHOSEN STAIR:

"Hierarchical" : Issey's use of different sized boxes and hierarchical uniformity is demonstrated in these set of stair. For the model, I cut out the sides and made it into triangular shapes instead of rectangles to fit my model better.

 SECOND SET OF CHOSEN STAIR:

"Distress": Irregular sized walls and twisting geometric stairs derived from Louise's sense of movement and deformity. This also fits well with my irregular geometric shapes for my final model.

THIRD SET OF CHOSEN STAIR:

"Growth": The staircase was built to show a sense of growth from the smaller, shorter set to the large, double set of stairs.

OTHER TRIALS:

"Hierarchical": Once again, uniform shaped stairs created, as inspired by Issey. This time I used circles instead of boxes and allowed them to decrease in size.

"Malleable": Louise's malleable structure inspired this set of stair. Created around a center point, the pie shaped steps spiral up. "Hierarchical" also plays a role in this set of stair as the shapes are uniformed and decrease in size.
